A motorcyclist has died and his pillion passenger suffered life-changing injuries following a fatal collision between a Ford Kuga and motorcycle on Briddlesford Road in Newport on Monday afternoon at 3:12pm.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after the tragic incident involving the Kawasaki motorcycle and Ford Kuga.
The 58-year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services. His 53-year-old female passenger was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries.
Both families have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage showing the incident or the moments beforehand.
