Pompey Women set for Lewes clash in FAWNL Cup
Pompey Women will host Lewes in the final group stage match of the 2026/27 FAWNL Cup on Sunday, 27 September, with kickoff at 2pm at John Jenkins Stadium, Moneyfield Avenue. The home side enter the game aiming for a perfect record after victories over Brighton & Hove Albion PGA (2-0) and Saltdean United (3-1). Pompey Academy Beats Plymouth 3-0 in Youth Alliance Cup
Pompey Academy secured a 3-0 win over Plymouth at Copnor Road, boosting their chances of reaching the Youth Alliance Cup knockout stages. Goals came from Kyran Sylvanus, Fraser Thomas and a late finish by Sylvanus after a saved attempt by Dane Bailey. The team praised their disciplined performance.

Man Charged with Criminal Damage in English Channel Incident
Daniel Thomas, 37, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of criminal damage after a boat was allegedly damaged in the English Channel on 22 September. He also faces a Section 53 RIPA offence for not providing a phone PIN. He remains in custody, due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 25 September.
Portsmouth Man Sentenced for Burglaries in Waterlooville and Swanwick
Andrew Evan Smith, 40, of Walmer Road, pleaded guilty to two burglaries and an attempted burglary in Waterlooville and Swanwick. He was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on 18 September to three years and four months’ imprisonment. The offences involved theft of cash, jewellery and attempted evidence destruction.
Police seek witnesses after assault at The Kara, Fleet
Officers responded at 8.30pm on Friday 18 September to reports that a man in his 30s had been assaulted at The Kara on Fleet Road. An officer attempting to detain the suspect was seized by several customers before all parties fled. Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident or has footage to assist their enquiries.
