    21‑year‑old arrested after fatal A34 collision kills Romsey driver

    A fatal collision occurred on the A34 near Sutton Scotney at about 8.20 pm on 5 September. A 63‑year‑old Romsey man driving a green Austin A35 was killed, while the 21‑year‑old driver of a Mazda 6 Sport from Tidworth was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drugs and is bailed until 6 December.

    A 37‑year‑old man, Leonardo Rodrigues De Lima Franco of Kingsley Crescent, High Wycombe, was charged with Class A drug offences after officers stopped a Renault Megane on Quilter Road, Brighton Hill, Basingstoke at 11.30 am on 8 September. Police seized £475 cash and 23 bags of Class A drugs. He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 9 September.
