A woman in her twenties was allegedly raped near Portsmouth Combined Court Centre early Wednesday morning, prompting a police investigation and increased patrols in the area.
The attack occurred at the rear of the Portsmouth Combined Court Centre in Alec Rose Lane between 3am and 4am on Wednesday, 11th June.
Police cordoned off the area near the prison van entrance following the incident, with officers launching a rape investigation.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We are conducting enquiries following the report of a rape of a woman in her twenties. The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are regularly patrolling the area. These patrols will continue over the weekend whilst our investigation continues.”
