A 21-year-old man is set to appear in court following an E-bike collision with a teenage pedestrian in Ryde. Patrick Douglas faces multiple charges including dangerous driving and failing to stop after the January incident.
The collision took place during the evening hours of 5 January on Ryde High Street between an E-bike and a pedestrian.
The victim, a 16-year-old girl, suffered injuries which were not of a serious nature. The E-bike rider left the scene without stopping.
After conducting several enquiries, police have summoned Patrick Douglas, aged 21, from Fishbourne Lane in Ryde, to answer the following charges:
- Dangerous driving
- Driving without a licence
- Driving without insurance
- Riding a motorcycle on a road and failing to wear protective head gear
- Failing to stop
Douglas is scheduled to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 29 July.
