Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Southampton on Monday evening that left a man with stab wounds and a woman injured by a glass bottle.
Detectives investigating the incident in Gatwick Close are seeking information from the public after two people were injured during an altercation on Monday 7 July.
Emergency services were contacted at approximately 11:30pm following reports of a disturbance in the residential area.
During the confrontation, a man aged in his twenties sustained a stab wound to his back and required hospital treatment. Medical staff have confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening or life-altering, and he has been released from hospital.
Police have arrested a 20-year-old Southampton man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody whilst investigations continue.
A second victim, a woman in her thirties, suffered head injuries after being struck with a glass bottle during the same incident. She did not require hospital treatment for her injuries.
An 18-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to this attack. She also remains in custody.
Officers have been conducting enquiries in the local area today and are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact them.
