A 38-year-old man from Havant has appeared before magistrates charged with arranging or facilitating a child sex offence following reports of sexually explicit messages sent to a child online.
Hampshire Constabulary received reports at 7.38pm on Tuesday, 1st July, regarding allegations that a man had been sending inappropriate messages to a child via the internet.
Police officers responded to an address on Middle Park Way in Havant, where they arrested a suspect.
After conducting investigations, Lee Comley, aged 38 and of Middle Park Way, was formally charged with arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
Comley appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 3rd July, where magistrates ordered him to be remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday, 4th August.
