A Southampton man has been imprisoned for violating the conditions of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Carl Bray, a sex offender aged 46 from Union Road, was sentenced to 21 months behind bars at Southampton Crown Court on 18 November.
Bray was initially convicted in October 2023 for attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child. He received a 15-month suspended sentence for 24 months and was placed under an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Police officers examined Bray’s electronic devices in September to verify compliance with his order. The investigation revealed he had repeatedly downloaded social media platforms including Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok and Zangi, which he used to communicate with unidentified individuals online before deleting the applications to conceal his activity.
During a subsequent property search, officers discovered two additional devices that Carl Bray, the sex offender from Southampton, was prohibited from possessing.
He faced charges for multiple breaches of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and violations of Sex Offender Register requirements. Southampton Crown Court handed down the 21-month prison term following his conviction.
