Portsmouth have secured the services of midfielder Luke Le Roux from Swedish club IFK Värnamo for an undisclosed sum, with the 25-year-old South African international penning a three-year contract at Fratton Park.
The deal remains subject to international clearance and work permit approval.
Manager John Mousinho expressed his delight at landing the midfielder, saying: “Luke’s performances over the last two seasons have put him on our shortlist, as well as attracting interest from several other clubs.
“We’re thrilled he’s chosen to join Portsmouth and we’ve secured an experienced international player.
“Luke operates as a holding midfielder who enjoys sitting deep and controlling the tempo. He possesses physical strength and excellent ball-handling skills.
“This was a role we were keen to fill and he fits exactly what we required. I’m looking forward to seeing him perform in Portsmouth colours.”
Le Roux developed through SuperSport United’s youth system in South Africa before making the switch to Sweden with Varbergs.

Following a stint in the Netherlands’ top division with Volendam, he moved to IFK Värnamo last summer.
The midfielder played a key role in helping his side secure their top-flight status through the play-offs, featuring in 32 matches for the Swedish outfit.
Pompey also signed Mark Kosznovszky yesterday.
