Kosznovszky Joins Pompey on Three-Year Deal

Pompey have signed 23-year-old midfielder Márk Kosznovszky from MTK Budapest on a three-year contract, pending international clearance and a work permit.

Pompey boss John Mousinho said he was delighted to add “an exciting young player, who is very energetic and talented” to his squad. He praised Kosznovszky’s versatility, noting the Hungarian can “handle the ball and also be a bit more attacking to make an impact in the final third,” and lauded his powerful running, which Mousinho believes will suit Championship football.

Kosznovszky progressed through MTK’s academy before moving to Italian side Parma as a teenager, where he featured in Serie A at Sampdoria. Returning to MTK in 2021, he had loan spells at Tiszakécske and Kozármisleny, then made nearly 50 first-team appearances over two seasons, scoring four goals. He also represented Hungary at both the UEFA European U17 Championship and the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2019.
