Five families announce the passing of loved ones across Portsmouth and Fareham. Services scheduled include celebrations of life for Josephine Beckwith, Norma Tennant, and Yvonne O’Neill, alongside remembrance notices for Jean Carter and Julia Hatton.
Josephine Amy Beckwith
Josephine Amy Beckwith, aged 94, died peacefully on 4th November 2025 at a care facility in Fareham. Born on 17th May 1931, she resided in Fareham throughout her life before relocating to a nursing home during her final six months.
A devoted music, dance, and musical theatre enthusiast, Josephine dedicated her career to teaching these disciplines. Her students benefitted from her passionate instruction, which continued until her final days. She is survived by two sons, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, 3rd December at 10:45am at St Columba Church, Hillson Drive, Fareham PO15 6PF. Interment follows at Fareham Cemetery, Wickham Road, Fareham PO16 7HX at 12 noon.

Jean Carter Remembrance

Norma Janette Tennant
Norma Janette Tennant passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, 3rd November, aged 83. Her husband David, sons Allan and Michael, grandchildren, great-grandson, extended family, and friends mourn her loss.
A celebration of life service takes place at Portchester Crematorium on Thursday, 27th November at 1:45pm. Family flowers only. Yvonne Valerie O’Neill
Yvonne Valerie O’Neill sadly died on 27th October 2025, aged 93 years. A cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
The funeral service will occur on Tuesday, 25th November at 2:30pm in the South Chapel at Portchester Crematorium. Yvonne requested one family floral tribute only. Donations benefitting The Rowans Hospice may be made online.
