Man charged after Portsmouth public indecency incident

A 34-year-old Southsea resident has been charged with outraging public decency following reports of inappropriate behaviour in Portsmouth. Sinan Adali will appear before magistrates today after the incident near Eldon Street junction.

Adali, of Middle Street in Southsea, faces one count of outraging public decency relating to an incident that took place at approximately 7am on Monday, 17th March. The alleged offence occurred close to where Eldon Street meets Middle Street.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Police had previously released an e-fit image this week as part of their investigation to identify the suspect. Following their enquiries, Adali was subsequently arrested.

A police spokesperson confirmed: “Earlier this week we issued an appeal after a man was seen performing an indecent act while walking near to the junction of Eldon Street and Middle Street at around 7am on Monday, March 17.

“As part of our enquiries we’ve now charged 34-year-old Sinan Adali of Middle Street in Southsea with one offence of outraging public decency. He’s been remanded to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (Thursday, June 12).”

The case will be heard at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.
