A 27-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply following a proactive police vehicle stop yesterday afternoon on Columbus Way.
Police officers intercepted a Fiat 500 at approximately 11:30am on 10th June after receiving reports of suspicious behaviour in the area.
During a subsequent drugs search of the vehicle, officers discovered and confiscated multiple bags containing what they suspect to be Class A substances.
The driver was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The arrest forms part of ongoing proactive policing efforts to tackle drug-related crime in the Andover area.
