A teenager was assaulted by two men at a Bursledon bus stop before a 19-year-old Southampton man was arrested following the incident on Friday.
Police were called to reports of an assault at the bus stop near Dodwell Lane on the A27, opposite Long Lane, at 1.33pm on 20 June.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries after being attacked by two men who had got out of a Seat Ibiza.
Following the assault, the vehicle was driven directly at a police officer, forcing them to leap out of harm’s way before the driver fled the scene.
A police investigation resulted in an arrest the following day (21 June), during which an officer was assaulted.
The 19-year-old suspect from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, assisting an offender, and two counts of common assault on an emergency worker.
He remains in police custody whilst enquiries continue.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and are urging witnesses to come forward.
