Officers policing tomorrow’s Aldershot v Woking football fixture have been granted enhanced powers to maintain safety for supporters and the wider public on Saturday 22 November.
Hampshire Police will operate under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, with the authorisation running for 12 hours from 9am until 9pm on match day.
The designated zone covered by these measures is shown on the attached map.
A Section 60aa authorisation will run simultaneously across the identical area and timeframe, enabling officers to confiscate items used to hide identity including face coverings and masks.
These dispersal powers enable police to tackle potential safety concerns more efficiently, granting authority to direct individuals to leave the specified zone with prohibition on returning for a set duration.

Chief Inspector Marcus Kennedy commented: “Whilst we anticipate that these enhanced powers won’t require activation and supporters will enjoy the fixture peacefully, officers stand ready to act decisively if needed.
“Patrols will operate throughout the ground vicinity and town centre for the order’s full duration, protecting football supporters, residents and local businesses alike.
“Anyone with worries should approach our patrolling officers who’ll gladly assist.”
