Hampshire Police have launched a dangerous driving incident M27 appeal, urging witnesses and dashcam owners to come forward after a grey BMW 3-series Estate was seen travelling at excessive speed on the eastbound carriageway between Portsmouth and Fareham on Sunday.
The incident is reported to have taken place between 2:15pm and 2:30pm. The vehicle was observed undertaking other drivers and crossing hatched road markings before continuing at speed into Fareham and along Gosport Road.
Following subsequent enquiries, a 33-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He has since been released under investigation whilst officers continue their enquiries.
Police are now appealing to anyone who was travelling on these roads during that time and witnessed the driving, or who may hold relevant dashcam footage, to get in touch.
