Two men have been arrested following a collision involving a stolen Mercedes and a bus in Hartley Wintney on Monday 2 February. Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen a black Honda CR-V in the area at the time.
Officers received reports at approximately 4.30pm of a white Mercedes colliding with a bus on St Johns Road. The incident resulted in no reported injuries.
The Mercedes had been reported stolen at 4.14pm that same day from outside a property on Cove Road in Fleet. Police were able to track the vehicle, which fled at speed when spotted by officers. Police subsequently lost sight of the car before it collided with the bus. The vehicle was seized at the scene.
A 22-year-old man from Farnborough has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, and failing to report a road traffic accident. A 23-year-old man from Finchampstead was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
Both suspects have been released on bail with conditions whilst further enquiries are conducted.
Detectives believe a black Honda CR-V was in the vicinity at the time of the incident and are appealing for the driver to come forward, as they may hold crucial information.
