Portsmouth FC have confirmed the departure of midfielder Abdoulaye Kamara following a mutual agreement to terminate his existing contract, with the 20-year-old Frenchman completing a permanent transfer to German third-tier side FC Saarbrücken.
Pompey manager John Mousinho expressed his gratitude for the midfielder’s contributions during his time at Fratton Park.
“We’re grateful to Abdoulaye for his commitment last season and wish him every success moving forward,” Mousinho commented. “Hopefully, he can now progress further and secure consistent first-team opportunities.”
The young midfielder joined Portsmouth from Borussia Dortmund during the previous summer transfer window, having previously developed through Paris Saint-Germain’s youth academy system.
Kamara made his Portsmouth debut as a substitute in a Championship fixture against Sunderland at Fratton Park and went on to feature in six matches for the South Coast club throughout his spell.
The departure enables Kamara to pursue regular playing time in German football as he continues his professional development with FC Saarbrücken.
