A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of Anjela Chetty, 60, in Andover. Sashin Vishay Kumardew faces multiple charges including murder and attempted murder.
Police were called to Burkal Drive in Andover at 8:26am on Saturday, 8 March, following reports of a serious assault at a residential property.
Anjela Chetty, a local Andover resident, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A second woman, also in her 60s, was discovered with serious injuries.
Sashin Vishay Kumardew, aged 31 and of Burkal Drive, Andover, has been charged with several offences including:
- Murder
- Attempted murder
- Two counts of possession of a Class A drug
- Possession of a Class B drug
Kumardew has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 28 August.
