A man’s body has been recovered following searches connected to a boat collision near Tipner in Portsmouth. The maritime incident occurred on Thursday evening, with the body being discovered on Tuesday morning.
The body was found on Tuesday morning (19 August) during searches related to a collision involving a private rigid hulled inflatable boat near Tipner in Portsmouth, which took place at approximately 7:20pm on Thursday 14 August.
Although formal identification is yet to be completed, the man’s relatives have been notified and are receiving ongoing support from specially trained officers.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
Authorities and the man’s family have expressed gratitude to all those who shared the appeal, provided information, or assisted with the search efforts.

The relatives of a man in his 60s from Emsworth, who was later declared dead at hospital on Thursday after the incident, are also receiving continued support from specially trained officers.
Detective Superintendent Abbie Leeson, Senior Investigating Officer, commented: “We understand the community has been both saddened and shocked by this incident, and we want to assure you that our investigations to determine the complete circumstances continue.”
