A tribute has been paid to a ‘larger than life’ man who died following a fatal collision in Bishops Waltham on Thursday 14 August.
Police responded to emergency calls at 2.12pm regarding a collision on the B2177 Winchester Road involving a blue Land Rover Discovery and a red Ducati motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 64-year-old Simon Andrews from Bishops Waltham, was declared deceased at the scene.
His family have released the following heartfelt tribute:
“With completely broken hearts, we share this devastating news that our cherished Simon has passed away. The cruel irony is that he died whilst doing something he adored!
“Our family has been utterly devastated and we know the musical community will be equally shaken. Many of you have already demonstrated such love for him and our family.
“He was bursting with life, the mad fool who would climb anything to sing to you all.
“The performer, the biker, the snowflake hater but he was also our Dad, our grandad, a devoted husband and brother.
“Simon was fundamentally a country man, with his love of walks, his dogs, buildings – he was an engineer, as he often said. His travels to America, one of the most incredible trips he recently enjoyed with Jackie, memories we’ll treasure.
“If he was your friend, you certainly knew it. He would go to great lengths to help, but if you crossed him, you knew about that too!
“We’re struggling right now as it’s such an enormous void in our lives, but we know he touched your world and we also want to express how you all enriched his life so much.
