Hungarian midfielder Márk Kosznovszky says joining Portsmouth represents a dream fulfilled after completing his move from MTK Budapest on a three-year contract last week.
The 23-year-old, who signed alongside fellow midfielder Luke Le Roux, had long harboured ambitions of playing in English football following an earlier spell with Italian outfit Parma during his youth career.
Conversations with manager John Mousinho convinced Kosznovszky that Fratton Park was the ideal destination to realise his English football aspirations.
“It’s incredible to be here,” Kosznovszky explained. “I’ve been anticipating this moment for ages and playing in England has always been my dream.
“I’m genuinely thankful for this chance and had received so many positive reports about Pompey, which influenced my choice.
“Witnessing the passionate support from the supporters and how they back the players really convinced me.
“I’ll commit everything to help the squad achieve success and I’m particularly excited about meeting the fans.
“I also got the opportunity to chat with the manager and it was obvious how much the club desired my signature – that made my decision straightforward.
“We had an excellent conversation. He stressed how much they’d been anticipating my arrival and how perfectly I’d suit their system.
“Joining here was my main objective and I made that apparent to everyone, so I’ve been eagerly awaiting this day.

“I’m still developing and haven’t reached my peak, but that’s precisely why I’ve chosen Pompey – to continue improving.
“I understand it won’t be straightforward and this is a completely different division. There will be obstacles, but I won’t surrender.
“My aim is to establish myself as a regular in the starting eleven, feature in as many matches as possible, create assists and support Pompey in achieving their ambitions.”
