Portsmouth Women have confirmed the permanent signing of Jazz Bull, with the 22-year-old defender securing a two-year contract following her successful loan spell from Bristol City during the second half of last season, where she made ten appearances.
The Scotland Under-23 international proved instrumental in helping Jay Sadler’s side maintain their Women’s Super League 2 status after arriving on loan from fellow WSL 2 club Bristol City.
Bull commenced her footballing journey at Bristol City, progressing through their youth academy system before making her first-team debut in 2021. The versatile defender featured prominently in the Robins’ championship-winning 2022/23 campaign, making 14 appearances as the club secured promotion to the Women’s Super League.
Her international credentials include representation for Scotland at Under-23 level, with her latest call-up occurring in March 2025.
Portsmouth manager Jay Sadler expressed his satisfaction with the permanent acquisition: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Jazz join us permanently. She played a huge part during her loan spell.
“She’s a tenacious full-back with relentless energy, real quality on the pitch, and natural leadership. She is exactly the type of character we want in this group.”
The signing represents a significant coup for Portsmouth Women as they continue building their squad for the upcoming season, with Bull’s proven WSL 2 experience and international recognition adding valuable depth to their defensive options.
