Police are seeking witnesses after a 35-year-old man was attacked with a suspected knife in a Basingstoke play area on Friday evening, suffering arm cuts requiring stitches before fleeing to safety nearby.
Officers are requesting information following the assault in Basingstoke.
Around 5.45pm on Friday 27 June, the victim was in the playground on Cordale Road when two men approached and attacked him. He sustained a cut to his arm, believed to have been inflicted by a blade, which needed medical stitches.
The victim fled the scene and sought refuge at a nearby property.
Police believe the two attackers were part of a larger group of approximately five individuals. They are thought to have escaped back through the park and over the bridge following the incident.
Authorities wish to speak with one man described as: black, aged 30-35, slim build with dreadlocks. He wore a grey tracksuit and grey Nike trainers, plus a black balaclava, and was using an e-scooter.
The second suspect is described as: black, medium build, wearing a black tracksuit and riding a bicycle.

Detective Constable Amber Spicer said: “We’re aware several people were in the vicinity during this incident and we urge them to come forward, including those who may have already spoken with officers at the scene. Were you present? Did you witness the attack or spot the suspects or victim in the area before or after the incident?
