Police appeal after man grabs child’s wrist in Gosport

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man grabbed a six-year-old boy’s wrist near Alverstoke Creek in Gosport on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred between 12:30pm and 1:00pm on Sunday, 22nd June, in the vicinity of Jackie Spencer’s Bridge at Alverstoke Creek.

According to reports, the suspect approached the young boy and took hold of his wrist before leaving the scene when the child’s mother called out her son’s name.

Police have issued a description of the man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as being of Asian appearance, aged approximately 28 to 30 years old, and around 5ft 6in in height with a slim build.

The individual had short black hair and was wearing a baseball cap at the time of the incident. He was also dressed in a navy-coloured top and dark trousers, and was carrying a black rucksack.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the identity of this man or who witnessed the incident.
