Southsea Food Festival returns 5-6 July with unprecedented backing from local enterprises, featuring over 80 food and drink vendors in its 17th year celebration.
The beloved Southsea Food Festival is set to return this summer with remarkable support from the local business community. More than 80 food and beverage vendors will participate in the two-day celebration, with over half representing the Portsmouth region.
Now in its 17th year, the festival has established itself as one of the South Coast’s premier culinary events. This year introduces an exciting new feature—the Kitchen Stage, sponsored by Southsea Deli, Waitrose (Southsea), and Express FM. Local chefs and restaurant owners, including representatives from The Briny and Natty’s Jerk, will demonstrate their signature dishes whilst sharing culinary expertise and samples with attendees.
Additional event partners include Victorious Festivals Ltd, Nation Radio, Hovertravel, toob, and Portsmouth marketing specialist Evosa.
Councillor Steve Pitt, Portsmouth City Council Leader responsible for economic development, expressed his gratitude: “I want to thank all the local and regional businesses who have stepped up to support this year’s Southsea Food Festival. Their backing not only helps make the event a success but also supports our local economy. By working together, we can create great events for our communities, support local jobs, and showcase the incredible talent and businesses we have right here in Portsmouth.”

The festival will transform central Southsea into a bustling culinary destination, spanning Clarendon Road, Palmerston Road, Osborne Road, and Avenue De Caen. Visitors can sample locally-produced smokehouse barbecue, macarons, chilli sauces, wines, craft beers, and Portsmouth’s award-winning aged rum. International cuisine will complement local offerings, with comprehensive options for vegetarians, vegans, and even four-legged companions. Many hot food vendors will provide smaller taster portions, enabling guests to experience a broader range of flavours.
The festival forms part of Portsmouth’s broader initiative to champion small businesses whilst celebrating the area’s vibrant independent restaurant and retail scene.
