Portsmouth is set for a largely dry and bright week, with sunny spells developing through Monday and temperatures climbing to a mild 16°C by Thursday, according to the Met Office.
Monday morning will bring patchy cloud and sunny intervals, with a 20 per cent chance of a light shower around 8am. Conditions will turn increasingly overcast through the afternoon, with the possibility of some light drizzle. Gusts of up to 29mph from the west are expected at times, though the UV index remains low and visibility is forecast to be very good throughout the day, reaching up to 35km. Temperatures will peak at 12°C.
Monday night will be dry and mild, with thick cloud cover for the most part and brief clear spells likely to develop at intervals. A gentle breeze will persist overnight, with temperatures not dropping below 7°C.
Tuesday will begin under mostly cloudy skies before brightening considerably from midday. Sunny spells are expected to develop widely through the afternoon, with temperatures reaching 13°C and winds easing as the day progresses.
The rest of the week is set to be settled and pleasant. Wednesday brings dry conditions and plenty of sunshine across the region, with a high of 15°C. Thursday follows suit, with sunshine throughout the day — though mornings will feel cool before temperatures climb to 15°C in the afternoon. Friday will remain dry and largely sunny, though bands of high cloud are expected at times, with a maximum of 14°C.
The weekend offers more of the same dry conditions, though there is a 20 per cent chance of rain on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday, with temperatures holding around 12°C to 13°C.
