Nightingale Road will be reduced to one lane from Monday 7 July until November 2025 for essential works, with traffic lights controlling flow and potential delays expected near QA Hospital.
The carriageway will operate under single-lane restrictions with temporary traffic signals positioned at both ends to manage vehicle movement throughout the construction period.
Motorists travelling to QA Hospital are advised to allow additional journey time, as congestion is anticipated during busy periods whilst the works progress.
The construction programme is scheduled to commence on Monday 7 July 2025 and continue through to November 2025. Should the project finish ahead of schedule, the road will reopen to full capacity at the earliest opportunity.
Parking and pedestrian changes
Several disabled parking spaces along Nightingale Road will be temporarily unavailable during the works period. Alternative disabled parking has been arranged close to the East Entrance, with clear signage directing drivers to available spaces.
The existing pedestrian crossing will remain closed throughout the construction phase, though alternative crossing points will be provided for safe passage.
Hospital visitors, patients and staff are thanked in advance for their patience during these necessary improvement works.
