Portsmouth FC sell over 14,000 season tickets despite price rise

Portsmouth FC have sold more than 14,000 season tickets for the 2025-26 Championship campaign, despite price increases of £41 bringing adult tickets to £496 in most areas of Fratton Park.

Portsmouth are gearing up for another Championship season following their successful battle against relegation last term.

Having claimed the League One championship in 2023-24, Portsmouth struggled initially upon their return to the Championship, finding themselves at the foot of the table by early November with merely nine points accumulated.

With Pompey sitting six points adrift of safety at that juncture, the threat of relegation loomed large, yet John Mousinho’s squad gradually distanced themselves from trouble as they adapted to second-tier football.

The season proved challenging throughout, with Portsmouth’s disappointing away record threatening to pull them back into relegation contention, though they ultimately concluded the campaign in 16th position, five points above the drop zone.

Impressive season ticket milestone reached

Following two decades of upheaval, Portsmouth’s supporters have established a reputation for unwavering loyalty to their club, a trait that remained evident throughout the previous season.

Pompey recorded an average home attendance of 20,259 last season – representing an increase of nearly 2,000 from their League One title-winning year – ensuring Fratton Park was effectively at capacity for every fixture.

Early signs of continued strong support emerged when the club announced that over 7,800 supporters had secured season tickets within the opening week of sales last month, with that figure subsequently almost doubling.

Before the renewal deadline on Tuesday afternoon, Portsmouth revealed that more than 14,000 supporters had purchased season tickets for the forthcoming season, notwithstanding the price increases.

Adult season tickets for most sections of Fratton Park, excluding the central areas of the North Stand and South Stand, have increased by £41 from the previous campaign to £496, yet this has not deterred Pompey fans from securing their places for the new term.

With Portsmouth now securely re-established in the Championship, anticipation runs high amongst the Fratton Park faithful regarding next season’s prospects, as demonstrated by these robust season ticket sales figures.
