Portsmouth Women have discovered their League Cup group stage adversaries following Thursday morning’s draw on BBC Radio 5 Live, with the Blues set to face local rivals Southampton alongside Brighton, West Ham and Charlton in Group C.
Former England striker Toni Duggan conducted the draw during the breakfast programme on Thursday, placing Jay Sadler’s squad in what promises to be a challenging group.
The south coast derby against Southampton will be joined by encounters with fellow WSL2 outfit Charlton Athletic, as well as Women’s Super League sides Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United. Specific fixture arrangements are yet to be announced.
The group phase will unfold across the following dates:
- September 24/25
- October 8/9 (Group C fixtures only)
- October 18/19
- November 12/13 (Group C fixtures only)
- November 22/23
- Quarter-finals: December 20/21
- Semi-finals: January 21/22
- Final: March 15/16
