Portsmouth FC will begin their 2025/26 Championship season with an away fixture against Oxford United on Saturday, August 9, at 3pm, with the match broadcast live on Sky Sports+12.
Manager John Mousinho will make a familiar return to the Kassam Stadium as he leads his Blues squad into the new campaign.
The opening home match follows seven days later when Norwich City visit Fratton Park, before August concludes with away and home fixtures against West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End respectively.

Notable Fixtures
A standout fixture emerges immediately after the season’s first international break in early September. Portsmouth will contest their first south coast derby in six years when they travel to Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on September 13. The return leg at Fratton Park is provisionally set for January 24.
Festive Period
Supporters can anticipate consecutive home matches during the festive period, with Queens Park Rangers visiting on Boxing Day followed by Charlton Athletic on December 29. The Blues will then begin 2026 with an away trip to Bristol City on New Year’s Day.
Easter Programme
The traditional Easter double-header falls in early April, starting with an away fixture at Norwich before hosting Oxford United at PO4.
Portsmouth will conclude their Championship campaign against newly-promoted Birmingham City on Saturday, May 2, in what is currently scheduled as the final match of the season.
