Portsmouth will conclude their pre-season preparations by hosting Dutch Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle at Fratton Park on Saturday, August 2, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm, exactly one week before the Championship season begins.
John Mousinho’s squad will welcome the Netherlands top-flight visitors as their final warm-up fixture, adding to their already confirmed pre-season schedule against Woking, Farnborough, Crawley Town, Reading and Havant & Waterlooville1.
The Dutch visitors concluded the previous Eredivisie campaign in 10th position, narrowly failing to secure a European play-off berth.
PEC Zwolle’s most memorable moment came in 2014 when they delivered a stunning 5-1 victory over Ajax to claim their maiden KNVB Cup triumph. The club followed up this success by defeating the same Amsterdam giants months later to secure the Johan Cruyff Shield – Holland’s equivalent to England’s Community Shield.
Details regarding ticket availability and pricing for the Fratton Park encounter will be confirmed at a later date.
