Goalkeeper Ben Killip has committed his future to Portsmouth by signing a two-year contract extension. The 29-year-old joined from Barnsley in February on a short-term deal and impressed in his final two appearances last season.
The shot-stopper helped secure an unbeaten finish to the campaign with stalemates against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City in his two outings.
Portsmouth manager John Mousinho expressed his delight at retaining Killip’s services: “We’re thrilled that Ben will be staying at the club and our goalkeeping department looks exceptionally strong.
“He complements the other lads we have here brilliantly and that rivalry should extract the finest performances from all of them.
“We witnessed what Ben could deliver in those two matches at the season’s end and I’m eager to collaborate with him again when the squad reconvenes later this month.”
Killip started his professional journey at Norwich before spells with Grimsby and Braintree, whilst also earning caps for England ‘C’.
The keeper then amassed 150 appearances for Hartlepool, playing a crucial role in their return to the Football League.
Following his move to Barnsley in summer 2023, Killip accumulated 36 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit before his switch to Fratton Park.
