Portsmouth MP Amanda Martin has launched a comprehensive survey to gather residents’ views on local and national issues affecting the city. The survey seeks input on everything from anti-social behaviour to NHS services.
The Labour MP says she and her team are actively engaging with Portsmouth residents weekly, visiting communities to hear directly from constituents about their concerns and ideas for improving the city.
“I’m working hard every day to make Portsmouth a better city for all,” Martin stated. “We’re out every week listening to Portsmouth people and asking them to share their ideas and concerns on local and national issues to inform my work as our MP.”
The survey addresses numerous local concerns including:
- Anti-social behaviour and crime
- Bus services and public transport
- GP waiting times and NHS services
- Local high streets and employment
- Road maintenance and traffic issues
- Dental services and sewage problems
On national matters, residents can express their priorities regarding the cost of living, healthcare, education, housing, and immigration policy.
Martin emphasises that community input directly influences her parliamentary work, from campaigning for safer streets to addressing NHS challenges and ensuring educational opportunities for Portsmouth children.
“I want to hear from you on what matters to you, your family and our community,” she explained. “As your MP, I take action every day to make Portsmouth a better place for everyone.”

The survey also includes questions about voting intentions and asks residents what they love about their area, what improvements they’d like to see, and specific suggestions for enhancing the city.
Residents can complete the survey online, with Martin encouraging people to take five minutes to share their thoughts, stating that community input “really does matter” to her work as Portsmouth’s representative.
