The University of Portsmouth has secured ninth place nationally for learning resources in the latest National Student Survey, while also ranking second regionally for student voice and learning facilities.
The annual National Student Survey (NSS), released today (9 July), positioned the University of Portsmouth among England’s leading institutions based on responses from final-year full-time undergraduate students.
The Office for Students (OfS) findings show Portsmouth’s rankings amongst mainstream English universities as:
- 9th for learning resources
- 24th for promoting mental health support
- 25th for academic support
Within the South East region, Portsmouth achieved second place for both student voice and learning resources, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to student investment.
These latest NSS findings complement Portsmouth’s track record of student-focused achievements, including:
Gold status in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
Top 3 position amongst modern UK universities for research strength, ensuring students learn from leading academics and pioneering researchers
£5.8 million Office for Students investment to revolutionise Faculty of Technology infrastructure, featuring cutting-edge laboratories, simulation learning spaces, space applications satellite facility, and state-of-the-art renewable energy systems for training future engineers and technicians
£5.6 million enhancement of the University’s Dental Academy, incorporating contemporary ‘phantom head’ technology, advanced digital dental equipment, and comprehensive dental training simulators
Development of a new medical programme through collaboration with King’s College London, establishing a local branch campus for medical education with aspirations to launch an independent medical school.
