Police have imposed a dispersal order covering parts of Yateley this weekend following last year’s anti-social behaviour and assault reports at the Gig on the Green event, running from Saturday morning until Sunday evening.
Hampshire Police have put the dispersal order into effect under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, covering the designated area shown on the published map from 11am on Saturday 28th June through to 11pm on Sunday 29th June.
The measure grants police authority to direct individuals to leave the specified area and prohibits their return for a designated period. Anyone failing to comply with such directions commits a criminal offence and faces potential arrest.
Young people aged between 10 and 16 who receive dispersal notices will be escorted home to their parents or guardians, with officers conducting subsequent follow-up actions.
Police patrols will operate throughout the weekend period, and members of the public with questions, information, or concerns are encouraged to speak with patrolling officers or telephone 101.
Hart Inspector Lisa Eastlake commented: “We understand this event holds great significance for the local community annually, and we want everyone to enjoy themselves safely.
“Nevertheless, following incidents involving a small number of individuals at last year’s event, we have put this dispersal order in place for the weekend.
“We treat all reports of anti-social behaviour and violence with utmost seriousness. Such conduct will not be accepted, and those responsible will face robust action.”
