A 40-year-old woman has been charged with theft and assault following incidents at Basingstoke shops. Donna Kemp will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow facing multiple charges.
The charges follow reports that items valued at £34.14 were taken from Marks & Spencer in Chineham on 9 June.
Police also received reports that a man was assaulted, sustaining a split lip and finger cuts. The victim was allegedly threatened with the bottom portion of a metal can.
A further incident involved the theft of food and drink worth £5 from One Stop on Sherborne Road on 12 June.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a woman yesterday.

Donna Kemp, 40, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of shop theft.
Additional charges include assault occasioning actual bodily harm and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
Kemp is scheduled to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow (14 June).
