Police are appealing for witnesses after a 44-year-old man was assaulted by a group of teenagers outside Fareham train station on Sunday 14 December between 7:30pm and 7:40pm. The victim sustained a minor injury during the incident.
Officers received a report that the man and a female companion were approached by five youths—three males and two females—who attempted to steal the victim’s rucksack before assaulting him.
The suspects, described as white and aged between 16 and 20, fled the scene following the Fareham train station assault. One member of the group was wearing a grey hoodie, whilst another was dressed entirely in black. Police believe the teenagers left the area on the E4 bus heading towards Redlands Lane.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Fareham train station during the specified time to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 44250562945.
Officers are also keen to obtain CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that could assist with the investigation into the Fareham train station assault.
