Waleed Alharbi has been convicted of raping a woman at his Portsmouth flat following a trial at Winchester Crown Court.
A jury found the 26-year-old guilty of rape and attempted rape on Tuesday, 2 December, following a seven-day trial. Alharbi, of Greetham Street in Portsmouth, had denied both charges.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, 28 June, when a woman in her 30s was attacked at an address on Greetham Street. The court heard that Alharbi, a Saudi Arabian national studying at a language school at the time, encountered the victim at The Astoria nightclub on Guildhall Walk. He subsequently brought her to his address where the assault took place.
Alharbi has been remanded in custody and will appear at Winchester Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday, 9 December.
