Vickrum Digwa and Kiran Kaur have been charged following the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton. Digwa faces murder charges whilst Kaur is accused of assisting an offender after the Portswood incident.
Police responded to reports of an altercation in Belmont Road at approximately 11.30pm on Wednesday, 3 December. Upon arrival, officers discovered Henry Nowak suffering from a puncture wound to his chest and two injuries to his leg. Paramedics pronounced the teenager dead at the scene.
Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Team subsequently charged Vickrum Digwa, 22, of St Denys Road, Southampton, with murder. The British man of Asian ethnicity also faces charges of possessing a bladed article in a public place.
Kiran Kaur, 52, also of St Denys Road, Southampton, has been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the same incident. Kaur, who is Indian and of Asian ethnicity, will appear alongside Digwa.
Both Vickrum Digwa and Kiran Kaur are scheduled to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 December.
Man, 24, charged West End theft and vehicle offences
A 51-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.
A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder received no further action regarding that offence. However, he was additionally arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a public order offence, and remains on police bail pending further investigation.
