Three more arrests in Sarisbury Green attempted murder probe

Police have detained three additional suspects in connection with an attempted murder inquiry following a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian in Sarisbury Green.

Detectives made the arrests overnight and this morning (Tuesday 3rd June), apprehending two 15-year-old males from Fareham and Hedge End. Both teenagers face charges of attempted murder, causing injury by dangerous driving, vehicle interference, shop theft, and failing to stop after a collision.

A 24-year-old Fareham man was also taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder, causing injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop following a collision. All three individuals remain in police custody.

The arrests relate to an incident that occurred shortly after 3am on 29th May in Montefiore Drive, Sarisbury Green, where a pedestrian was struck by a dark-coloured vehicle, believed to be an Audi, which fled the scene.

These latest detentions follow yesterday’s arrests (2nd June) of two teenagers in connection with the same investigation.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was transported to Southampton General Hospital where he continues to receive treatment for serious injuries that may be life-altering. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Police confirmed that two 18-year-old men from Fareham and Hamble, who were arrested on Monday 2nd June, have been released without charge and will face no further police action.

Investigators are conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area and are appealing for residents who may possess doorbell camera footage or dashcam recordings that could assist the investigation. Police are also asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of vehicle-related crime in the vicinity to come forward.

Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who may have observed the vehicle or two individuals behaving suspiciously in the area.
