Hampshire Police have recovered suspected stolen power tools from a transit van in Romsey and are appealing to owners to come forward. The items, seized on Thursday 6 November, include a STIHL chainsaw, STIHL leaf blower, and Husqvarna long-reach strimmer.
Officers discovered the tools during an operation in the Romsey area and believe they may have been taken unlawfully. Authorities are now working to trace the rightful owners of the equipment.
The following power tools were seized from the vehicle:
- STIHL chainsaw
- STIHL leaf blower
- Husqvarna long-reach strimmer
Anyone who recognises these items or believes they may be the owner is urged to contact Hampshire Police immediately by calling 101 and quoting incident number 44250501975.
Alternatively, information can be provided through the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website’s existing case reporting system.
Following the seizure, two individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation.
A 15-year-old boy from Totton was detained on suspicion of handling stolen goods, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and obstructing a constable in the execution of duty.
A 24-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place, common assault of an emergency worker, theft, using threatening or abusive behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and criminal damage.
Both suspects have been released on conditional police bail whilst enquiries continue.
