A 46-year-old Portsmouth man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after a man in his sixties reported being inappropriately touched outside Purbrook cricket club on 25th May.
The incident occurred between 5.30pm and 6pm on Sunday when the victim was sitting outside the cricket club on Purbrook Heath Road. Police say the suspect touched the man under his shirt during the alleged assault.
The arrested man has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are appealing for information from a man and woman who were present at the cricket club during the incident and may have witnessed what happened.
The male witness is described as white, aged between 40 and 50, with a stocky build and standing approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall. He has dark black hair and was wearing a faded black top with faded black trousers. He was carrying a black rucksack and a bottle of wine.
The female witness is described as white, aged between 40 and 50, approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall. She was wearing a blue floral dress, a long white cardigan, a white sun hat and black shoes.
