Man charged over Poppy Appeal tin theft in Ringwood

A 31-year-old Southampton man has been charged with stealing a Poppy Appeal collection tin containing £200 from Greyfriars Community Centre in Ringwood.

Sean Johnathon Cooper, of no fixed abode, faces charges of theft and non-dwelling burglary with intent to steal following incidents in the Hampshire town.

The charges relate to the theft of the Royal British Legion collection tin from Greyfriars Community Centre on Christchurch Road on Sunday 2 November. Cooper has also been charged in connection with a burglary at business premises on Meeting House Lane on Monday 10 November.

Cooper is scheduled to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 12 November).
