Police are seeking witnesses after a shed was burgled in Odiham on Saturday morning. Metal sheets and steel pipes were taken from the outbuilding on Archery Fields around 6am on 14 June.
Hampshire Constabulary received reports that burglars had broken into the shed at a residential property and made off with the metal items.
Following the incident report, officers have launched enquiries and are now requesting the public’s assistance.
Police are asking: Were you in the vicinity during the early morning hours? Did you observe any unusual activity? Do you possess CCTV footage, doorbell camera recordings, or dashcam video that might assist the investigation?
Members of the public with relevant information should telephone 101 and reference incident number 44250260672, or submit details online at: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
Hampshire Constabulary has also issued guidance on improving security for outdoor buildings.
Police highlight that homeowners frequently fail to secure sheds and garages with the same diligence applied to their main residence – often relying on basic locks or padlocks to safeguard valuable items including vehicles, bicycles, and garden equipment.
Opportunistic criminals frequently target these structures first, as they provide simpler access to expensive goods whilst also offering tools that could facilitate entry into the main property.
The force advises a four-point security approach: lock it, alarm it, hide it and mark it. Additional guidance is available at: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/protect-home-crime/secure-shed-garage/
