Police seek two women after Totton Asda shoplifting incident

Police have released CCTV images of two women they wish to speak to following an attempted shoplifting and public order incident at Asda in Totton on 26 June.

Officers are seeking to identify the women in connection with the incident at the Maynard Road store, which took place between 9:35am and 11:05am on Thursday.

The incident began when two women allegedly attempted to take items from the supermarket without paying. When store staff intervened, one of the women reportedly became verbally abusive and behaved aggressively towards employees.

Police have provided detailed descriptions of both women they wish to trace:

First woman:

  • White female
  • Approximately 40 years old
  • Around 5ft 6ins in height
  • Dark hair styled in an untidy bun
  • Wore a white T-shirt featuring a cherry design and shorts

Second woman:

  • White female
  • Approximately 40 years old
  • Around 5ft 7ins in height
  • Dirty blonde hair
  • Wore a pink and orange top with black leggings

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary believes the women captured in the CCTV footage could assist with their enquiries and are appealing for them to come forward.

The force is also seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident or noticed any suspicious activity in the area during the timeframe.

Anyone with relevant CCTV footage, mobile phone recordings, dashcam video, or doorbell camera material that could support the investigation is urged to make contact.
