Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Winchester where three men were attacked by a group of teenagers, leaving two with stab wounds.
Hampshire Police were alerted by ambulance colleagues to reports of a serious assault on Stockbridge Road at approximately 10.20pm on Saturday 12th July.
The incident began earlier that evening when three 20-year-old Winchester men became involved in a verbal dispute with a group of teenagers aboard a train travelling from Bournemouth to London Waterloo.
Both groups disembarked at Winchester station, where the teenagers reportedly followed the three men to Stockbridge Road before launching their attack.
During the assault, two of the men sustained stab wounds – one suffered a head injury whilst the other was wounded in the shoulder. Both required hospital treatment but have since been discharged.
The third victim sustained facial injuries that did not require hospital care.
Police are seeking six teenagers, described as aged around 16 or 17, comprising four boys and two girls:
- First male: White, approximately 5ft 10ins, slim build, light brown hair styled in curtains
- Second male: Black, approximately 5ft 10ins, slim build, afro-style hair
- Third male: South Asian ethnicity, approximately 5ft 7ins, proportionate build, curly black hair
- Fourth male: White, approximately 5ft 10ins, lanky build, blonde hair with short fringe and shaved sides
- First female: Blonde hair
- Second female: Brunette hair
Officers are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault in Winchester, or who may have seen the initial altercation on the Bournemouth to London Waterloo train.
Motorists who were driving near the railway station or Stockbridge Road area around the time of the incident are urged to check dashcam footage that might assist the investigation.
