Police are seeking witnesses following a bottle attack on a 31-year-old man in Gosport. The assault occurred at 2:50am on Saturday 31st May on South Street near The Great Wall restaurant, with the attacker fleeing on a bicycle afterwards.
Hampshire Police have issued descriptions of multiple witnesses they wish to speak to regarding the incident that took place close to The Great Wall restaurant and Elly’s Wine Store, opposite the former bus station.
The victim suffered cuts from a glass bottle attack and received hospital treatment before being discharged. The perpetrator, described as having dark hair in a ponytail and wearing a rucksack, escaped on a bicycle following the assault.
Following area enquiries and CCTV examination, officers have identified eleven witnesses they have been unable to trace and wish to contact.
Nine witnesses who approached the victim:
- Two medium-build men with dark hair, both wearing dark shorts and dark t-shirts
- A slim, dark-haired man in a dark t-shirt and dark jeans
- A dark-haired man wearing a light t-shirt and dark shorts
- A medium-build man in a light-coloured hooded top (hood up) and trousers
- A medium-build woman with dark hair wearing a long skirt below the knees, dark jacket and light shoes
- A slim, dark-haired woman carrying a dark cross-body bag, wearing long trousers and t-shirt, holding a drink
- A slim woman with light hair in light trousers and t-shirt
- A woman holding clothing

Two additional witnesses who entered a white taxi:
- A large-build woman with dark hair wearing a dark jacket, light top, dark trousers and light shoes
- A slim man with dark hair wearing dark shorts, light t-shirt, carrying a white plastic bag and jacket
