A 34-year-old man has been charged with burglary following a break-in at AFC Totton’s premises on Salisbury Road. Steven Frederick Michael Scaum, of no fixed abode, appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 11 December.

The New Forest man faces charges relating to forced entry into a storage shed at the football club during the early hours of 20 November. Tools were reportedly stolen during the incident at the outbuilding.

Scaum has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 16 December.

The accused also faces four separate shoplifting offences from retail premises in Dibden Purlieu and Hythe. These alleged incidents occurred between October and November.

Hampshire Constabulary brought the charges following their investigation into the burglary report at the AFC Totton facility.
