A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment after admitting to nine attempted burglaries across the Isle of Wight.
Jake Dunkling, of Carisbrooke High Street, targeted multiple properties in Newport and Cowes during two separate spates of criminal activity.
During the early hours of 20 October 2024, Dunkling attempted to force entry into homes on Tennyson Road and Bridge Road in Cowes by trying door handles.
In an earlier incident on 3 August, he targeted properties on Godric Road and Dormouse Drive in Newport, where he also damaged a gate and interfered with a vehicle parked on Dormouse Drive.
Dunkling appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Wednesday, 10 December, where he pleaded guilty to nine counts of attempted burglary, criminal damage, and vehicle interference.
PC Indie Hart described Dunkling’s actions as brazen, noting he had climbed over fences into gardens and attempted both front and rear doors of properties.
