Police are appealing for help identifying a man suspected of stealing £316.88 worth of fuel from a Tesco Esso Express petrol station in Hythe on three separate occasions between December and January.
The incidents took place at the Tesco Esso Express on Beaulieu Road, Dibden Purlieu, on Tuesday 23 December, Monday 29 December, and Friday 9 January. On each occasion, a man filled a van with fuel before telling staff he had no means of payment and leaving the premises without paying.
The breakdown of fuel stolen across the three incidents is as follows:
- 23 December: £101.14
- 29 December: £73.84
- 9 January: £141.90
The man is described as white, with dark hair and a dark beard, wearing glasses, and believed to be aged between 25 and 30. He stands approximately 6ft tall with a slight to medium build. During one of the incidents, he was seen wearing a three-quarter length grey puffer jacket with a hood, joggers, and Nike trainers.
Hampshire Police believe the man pictured in CCTV images may be able to assist with their enquiries and are urging him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.
